As this site is pretty much a one-person project, let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Robert Alexander. I have a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Tennessee and am an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies in the Department of Environmental Studies at Sweet Briar College. Sweet Briar College is a small, well-respected liberal arts college in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia. My research program is in the economics of biodiversity and wildlife conservation, a topic that I believe to be of critical importance to the future of our planet's biodiversity.
I should probably make the disclaimer that, although I mention my employer in several places, this web site is my own personal effort, designed, written and funded by me, and I am solely responsible for the content. I welcome comments and suggestions about the site or questions you may have about the role of economics in wildlife conservation. Just click on the link below to send me an email.
